The House Ethics Committee is investigating whether or not Rep. Matt Gaetz used illicit drugs as a member of Congress, multiple sources familiar with the committee's work told ABC News.

Committee investigators have inquired about whether Gaetz was under the influence of drugs at parties in Florida after becoming a member of Congress in 2017, according to the sources.

According to a sworn written statement that has been obtained by the Ethics committee, a woman says that in summer of 2017, when she was 20 years old, she attended a party in Florida that Gaetz also attended, which featured alcohol and drugs including cocaine and MDMA, sources familiar with the committee's work told ABC News.

The campaign committee of far-right Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is engaging a North Carolina firm whose owner proudly promotes white nationalism and antisemitic tropes, while pushing false narratives surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Republican Rep. Byron Donalds, the Florida congressman who was in the running to be former President Donald Trump's vice presidential pick, is in some hot water over his stock trades.

Donalds and his wife made over 100 trades, valued between $108,000 and $1.6 million, over the course of 2022 and 2023.

Though he disclosed those trades in annual forms filed in August 2023 and August 2024, he did not file any periodic transaction reports over those two years, which lawmakers are required to file within 45 days of trading any stock in order to ensure the public is aware of lawmakers' financial dealings in real time.
Failing to file those reports constitutes a clear violation of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, a law designed to prevent insider trading that requires regular disclosure of stock trades.
